Legislative Roles

From 2002-2014, Don served 6 full terms in the Oklahoma House of Representatives representing District 63. He also served as Deputy Majority Whip and served on numerous committees throughout his years in the legislature. Some of those committees include Ag and Wildlife, Ag and Rural Development, Veterans and Military Affairs, and Appropriations and Budget.

Currently, Don serves as a lobbyist. Through his company Armes and Associates, Don works closely with the legislators in making decisions for the State of Oklahoma. As a lobbyist, he also engages in oral or written communications with regard to policies or positions of state government. Furthermore, Don works with the House of Representative to review and discuss bills that will benefit the people of Oklahoma.

Don’s extensive knowledge of the legislative process through his 6 terms in the House of Representatives since his election in 2002 has resulted in the passing 125 pieces of legislation with him being the principal author. He devotes his time and energy to guiding clients with bills that land in the House of Representatives. His commitment and involvement in the lawmaking processes taught him to break down bills, understand procedures on the floor, and communicate with other lawmakers. As the Presiding Officer of the House of Representatives with over seventeen years of experience in the legislature, Don undoubtedly has an educated view. Hence, he understands the needs of the people and resources in the State of Oklahoma. Don takes pride in fighting for his state’s citizens. His professional relationships along with his ability to connect and communicate has made him a valued part of the law making process.
